Lighter, brighter, stronger...
How We Work With You
Well-being is our priority, and the individual is our primary focus. We believe that one size most certainly doesn’t fit all.
Sometimes life can seem overwhelming and we don’t know where to turn. Talking is crucially important in order that our internal thoughts don’t become damaging and all-encompassing. Friends and family can sometimes help by listening, but they are not always available (or willing). Speaking with a trained, impartial, understanding counsellor can help you discover your way of moving forward.
If you are open and can trust in the relationship between you and your counsellor, help is within reach. From coping with traumatic experiences, to dealing with depression and anxiety, managing harmful emotions and behaviours or coping with chronic illness…whatever you need to talk about, Simply Counselling is here to listen. We help you to find the right way forward to become a lighter, brighter and stronger you.
We realise it can take courage to contact a counsellor. We imagine that if you’re reading this you are seriously thinking about talking with someone and you want to take time to focus on YOU. If you think Simply is for you, we would be happy to show you how empowering and transformative counselling can be.
How does counselling work?
Something incredible happens when you open up to another person who you click with and who is trained to listen and support. By being granted the space to explore your feelings, your past and your personality, we can help you to move you from where you are to where you want to be so that you don’t just survive but thrive.
You might speak to a counsellor on your own, with your partner or family, or perhaps as part of one of our therapy groups. We will work with you to find the right therapy (and counsellor) that best fits you and your circumstances.
We don’t prescribe a set time frame, we are guided by you and what you need. It might be one session a week or one session a month… we work with you to bring about your best potential.
We have over 30 dedicated counsellors in Plymouth; each has been carefully selected for their unique strengths and experience across a spectrum of disciplines. Our carefully selected counsellors are hand-picked for their broad experience, empathy and professionalism.
Being able to trust your counsellor to stay with you as you give voice to what you are feeling is at the heart of what we do. Confidentiality is key and your counsellor will listen to you in complete confidence. They won’t discuss you with your GP, employer, family, friends or anyone else without your consent
