I am the CEO and founder. In 2006 I was fortunate to have the opportunity to set up Simply Counselling supported by a cohort of counsellors as I felt strongly that counselling should be accessible to everyone from all walks of life who needed it.

I believe that everyone is uniquely themselves and often we are too busy to understand what we need and want in order to function well; counselling gives us the opportunity to explore and understand ourselves better so that we can feel more at ease in our skin, and the opportunity to reach our full potential. I specialise in Couple and Family work as well as long-term counselling with an individual. I have many years of experience working with a diverse range of people many of whom have had deep seated trauma and I feel deeply moved / honoured / privileged witnessing their courage and commitment to changing their lives. This is a great change from owning a laundry business in Greece!

I have been a counsellor since 2007 and been with Simply for 10 years. I am a mental health supported living manager and have a passion in what I do. I have a wealth of experience in counselling, includes working in a school setting and have experience of working with a range of mental health issues - autism, schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD and complex issues as well as domestic abuse and working with carers. 

The desire for change, either from the difficulties of a sudden crisis, or more long-term feelings of discomfort, low self-esteem, anxiety or depression can be very powerful. We can easily get lost in the chaos of our thoughts and feelings and counselling can be an effective way of gaining clarity. I believe that we all know what we need in order to achieve a greater sense of well-being and counselling can help us to tune into and listen to that inner wisdom. I am an integrative counsellor, which means that I have learnt a number of different ways of working and so can tailor your sessions to suit your individual needs.

I have been practising as a counsellor for 2 years in Plymouth and Cornwall after many years working as a primary school teacher in Cornwall and Oxford. My counselling philosophy is profoundly Person Centred – I believe that within every single one of us there is the potential for change for the better. I have experienced it personally and it has been an absolute privilege to witness it in others.

I am a yoga and breathwork teacher and facilitator base in SW Devon and Integrative Counsellor. I use all the skills I have learned in training across multiple holistic modalities to hold a safe, non-judgemental and grounded space for clients, where they can bring and explore whatever they need, to help them move forward toward a more settled and empowered place. 

I offer a warm, non-judgmental and safe counselling space. I am driven by learning and curiosity and started my counselling journey with a B.Sc in Psychology before studying Integrative Counselling. One of my favourite quotes is from the relationship expert Esther Perel who says “The quality of your life ultimately depends on the quality of your relationships”. This is also true for therapy and my philosophy is grounded in creating a trusting relationship with the client at the centre. I am truly passionate about what I do and I always feel honoured when people share their stories with me and we work together through whatever difficulties and challenges you are facing.

I trained as an Integrative Counsellor which means I draw on several models of therapy in my practice. My work with clients includes issues around sexual abuse, anxiety, depression, trauma, domestic abuse, anger management and troubled relationships. My approach is collaborative, non-judgmental and supportive. I take my lead from my clients, believing that they are the experts in themselves and that it's my job to work with each person in the way that suits her/him/them best. I have seen how effective counselling can be and feel honoured to be part of that therapeutic journey.

Hi, my name is Caroline. My approach to therapy is that I believe that many people could do with a little extra support at some point in their lives and this is where counselling can help. Together we can work through the challenges you face and carve out a future which feels more manageable, hopeful and bright.

My journey into being a counsellor began when I personally had counselling. Curious as to why it had helped me, I began studying many of the various methodologies, which is reflected in my integrative work with my clients. I offer a warm, friendly, safe space in which to explore whatever is troubling you, the session time is yours... Having worked at Simply since 2009, I have found that every session is as unique as my clients, whether as an individual or as a couple.

My name is Kelly and I am an integrative counsellor in my final year of training. I work in a secondary school by day as a well-being key-worker, supporting and educating young people on feelings of anxiety and ways in which they can manage and understand their own experiences, recognise their own sign posts and explore tools to free themselves when they are ready. I am fascinated by the mind, the power of thoughts on the body and emotions and the effects it has in our daily lives. I work in person centred counselling, CBT and mindfulness, as well as solution focused practices tailored by you. “We are more than our current perspective suggests”.

My name is Michaela. As a mother and businesswoman with a wealth of lived experience, I understand that often trying to balance the demands of life, family, relationships and work can become overwhelming.

I offer you a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you will be listened to as you talk about your concerns and explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. In this way you can develop a better understanding of yourself and of others, which in turn can allow change to come about. I am in the final stage of my training as an integrative counsellor and will work together with you in a way that best suits your needs.

I am a very caring and compassionate person, genuinely curious about people and interested in understanding where they are coming from. I am passionate about using counselling as a way to explore the difficulties life presents to us, to be with difficult feelings or situations and to empower change if it is needed.

Life brings with it a variety of challenges, pressures, expectations and uncertainties, and under the weight of all this you may struggle to feel like yourself or the person you want to be. I've been in that place myself and it can make you feel overwhelmed, lost, and confused about what to do or who to turn to. I can offer a safe, reflective space away from the outside world where you can gain clarity and express yourself authentically without judgement or expectation. I believe that each person has the right and ability to thrive as the unique individual they are so I work to create a counselling experience that is essentially for and about you and your needs. I have a degree and keen interest in Psychology and have years of experience working as a Person-Centred counsellor with a variety of mental difficulties and relationship problems. Outside of counselling I love travelling, dancing, walking and losing myself in a good book or movie.

I am here to offer you a pause and to listen and to provide you with a safe and accepting environment. I have around 20 years experience in the medical sector, and in the last 5 years I have found myself drawn to counselling and psychology. At 6 ft 2, some describe me as a gentle giant, and I can offer you a secure and grounded space in which we can meet and I can get to know you and what has brought you to counselling. I am hopeful that our time together will help you to unlock your barriers and to find acceptance, direction and a way forward.

Hi I’m Catherine, a student counsellor who is passionate and experienced in working with a person-centred approach.

I offer a safe, welcoming and compassionate space with no judgement about what we discuss. We will work at your pace and explore whatever you choose to share. Together we will gain some understanding and clarity about what you’re experiencing and talk about how you might like to feel differently.

I have experience working with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, bereavement, stress, relationship issues and much more. I have also supported military veterans in outdoor therapy.

When I’m not at work, I love spending time wildlife watching or in the sea.

I believe wholeheartedly that a good counselling experience can help a person form the basis to heal and grow. I understand that we all find ways to cope to help us deal with the things that happen to us. At any point we can rediscover ourselves by looking within to find the answers to our problems. Having been on my own journey of healing I felt drawn to help others through their difficulties. In my own life I am a Wife and Mum Who enjoys fitness, eating and travel."

I am a counsellor in my last year of training in counselling and psychotherapy. I believe that suffering and pain have a universal language with the power to connect one soul to another. Counselling is the relationship of this connection which provides a safe environment and a non-judgmental attitude. Perhaps you feel as if your feet are a little unsteady or you just want to find your way back to yourself. Perhaps the storms in your life have left you shaken, and you would like to trace your steps back, and heal. I will not promise to be your guide, but I will for sure be your companion on your journey towards self-healing. I am a passionate counsellor that followed her dream of becoming who I am today. My passions are being out in nature, collecting pebbles and reading. Nevertheless, I am a mother of two with a loving partner.

I came to counselling following years of working closely with people within healthcare. I bring with me insights gained from being alongside people on their journeys through suffering, trauma, loss and all life's challenges. I now feel so grateful to be able to be alongside those I work with in more creative, instinctive and heartfelt ways. I work by integrating different methods, techniques and theories (including person-centered, CBT, Gestalt, body processing) and adapting them to what my clients feel are right for them at any given time. Supporting each person to find their own way, trusting in their own inner instinct and guiding them back to their fullest selves is the cornerstone of the way I work.

My name is Ella, and I am in my final year of Psychotherapy and Counselling training. My way of working is rooted in the person-centred approach, offering a safe, supportive, and warm environment for growth. Counselling is my passion in life, and I’ve personally experienced its life changing effects, through developing my understanding of myself. I’m someone who wants to offer a non-judgmental space for clients, where they can be listen to and explore their thoughts, feelings and behaviours, to find their way forward in life.

My journey towards counselling started with a degree in psychology, and following this an exploration of more experiential practices through Eastern and transpersonal approaches to the self. I have been fuelled by a belief in human potential, and a compassion for the obstacles that we face that can stand in the way. I am now in the final stages of training as an integrative counsellor, the foundation of my approach is humanistic. I  aim to provide a space where you will be met without judgment but with curiosity and compassion, to support you explore your experience and the challenges that you face, and find clarity moving forward.

28 year career in Health Care, teaching mindfulness and passionate to support individuals well-being. I was moved to become a counsellor and work with individuals at a deeper emotional level. Qualifying in Inner Child Trauma Therapy and qualified Person Centred Counsellor. I am here to listen, support and enable those feeling broken, alone, powerless, confused, traumatised and overwhelmed, to seek inner peace, regain hope, self esteem, sense of power and purpose. It is relationships past and present that have broken people, through grief or trauma and the unique therapeutic relationship can provide clarity and understanding, in place of confusion and despair. Discovering yourself through the eyes of another, who is wholly invested in your well-being, as one life touches another and enriches our shared experience.

My name is Estelle, and I am currently in the final year of my counselling training. In the past I've worked in administrative roles within colleges and universities, as well as working as an advisor for a national charity. Through my personal journey as a client in counselling, I've gained a deeper understanding of myself and greater resilience in managing many of life’s challenges. As a result, I felt empowered to change track and pursue a new career where I can offer support to others, in a way that also fits with my values. I offer a supportive and non-directive approach, creating a safe and empathetic environment where you can freely explore your thoughts and feelings. My aim is to be a supportive companion, working with you to find your way forward.

Hi, I'm Beth. As well as office administrator for Simply Counselling, I am also a qualified Integrative Therapist. The most important thing in the world to me, are those deep conversations, the ones you can't/don't have with your friends or work colleagues. I am passionate about offering a space for people to share their thoughts, no matter how dark or grim, and for them to be heard, validated and held. My only agenda is to be with each individual person, exactly where they are. Not from the top of the trench, but in there with them, by their side.

Hi, I'm Rosie and I work part time in the administration office. I am here to support both Beth and Beatrice in the office in helping our clients and supporting our counsellors. Originally a Northern girl I have moved to the area with my husband and my two young sons - who keep me on my toes!

Hi, I’m the Senior Administrator here at Simply and love working in support of both the clients and the counsellors. There are always challenges of an office-style but that’s all part of the rich tapestry of life!  Outside the office I love dance, reading and have a new found craze for yoga.
