Simply Counselling CIC is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.
Simply Counselling collects information about you when you contact us (or someone does on your behalf), make a payment or a donation. If we are contacted for our counselling services and personal and private information is left then we will reply. If we receive no further contact your information will be kept for 28 days.
We will collect information about you at the Initial Assessment. The personal information we collect might include your name, date of birth, address, email address, telephone number(s), children name and ages, gender, brief reasons you are coming to us, GP details, employment status, ethnicity, age, sexuality, disability and religion.
We use your information for allocation to a counsellor who we think would be appropriate for you to work with. You will be given an ‘Identifying Number’ and all personal and private information will be held separately from any subsequent notes made of counselling sessions by your counsellor. All our paperwork is safely and securely stored. We will keep your data for 3 years after you have completed your work with us or as agreed when you contract at the Initial Assessment.
We evaluate our work using CORE (a client self reporting questionnaire) and other evaluation questionnaires that are specific to funded projects. Sometimes we use completed questionnaires for our funders to evaluate our services. The questionnaire includes your ‘Identifying Number’ but does not contain any personal or private information.
If you pay for a service using a debit card or make a donation online, your card information is not held by us. It is collected by our third party payment processors. Simply Counselling will keep the merchant copy receipts for a minimum of 6 years for our accountancy records.
If you would like to know what our legal basis is for collecting information, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
The only time we may need to disclose information is due to safeguarding. Safeguarding concerns can include the client, vulnerable adults and children. This will be explained and contracted with you at the Initial Assessment.
