Welcome to Simply

If you are worried about approaching us, please call one of our friendly office staff, Ruth or Kayley, who will be happy to help and will be pleased to answer your questions and signpost you to other helpful information. Tel: 01752 560900.

What can I expect when I call?

Ruth or Kayley will take basic details from you and find out when you would be available for the initial session (IS). Our fees would also be explained at this point. Then as soon as an appointment becomes available we will contact you to book you in. We will take payment over the telephone by card to secure the appointment.

At your initial session your counsellor will assess possible problems, hear what you are hoping for and discuss how we can help - Standard one-to-one counselling sessions last 50-55 minutes. Counselling takes place in our new premises, which have very comfortable rooms where you will be undisturbed and able to talk freely in confidence.

Following this, your paperwork will go to our allocations manager who is a senior counsellor, she will match you with the best counsellor that will suit your needs. She may be able to do this quickly or you may have a slightly longer wait but she will make every effort to match you up with the most appropriate counsellor. Our team of counsellors are male and female with a wide range of ages and backgrounds. However you can talk to our office staff without being embarrassed if you would prefer a different counsellor.

Clients usually benefit most if they come in weekly. The number of sessions you may need will vary depending on your circumstances.

If you are a student, looking for a placement please check out our News section to see if we have an interview day coming up.

Simply’s ethos is to provide counselling which is affordable and accessible to people trying to access help. Simply have run workshops for groups such as carers and women who are in situations of domestic abuse and currently run a group to help those with a heart condition.  We do our best to help those on low incomes.

Simply Counselling CIC

Simply is set up as a Community Interest Company, which means that any small profits generated go back into providing counselling for those in need but who would otherwise not be able to afford it. We have previously received Lottery funding to help survivors of domestic abuse and we are now applying for funding to help with similar domestic abuse work with families.

Most of our counsellors provide their services on a voluntary basis. Our paid counsellors also volunteer some of their time, providing tailored services using lifelong skills in giving something back to the community.

Realistically, providing a counselling session costs us £45 per session.  Please call the office to find out how much you will be required to contribute - this is based on your household income.
