How much does counselling cost?

Simply Counselling wants to make the service we provide available to everyone – therefore our prices are affordable. The initial session is free, lasts approximately 30 minutes and gives you the opportunity to decide whether you want to proceed or not. Simply Counselling is a Community Interest Company (this means we are a non-profit making organisation). However the service has to cover it’s costs, and so you will be asked to make a contribution according to your financial situation, but no-one will be denied counselling, or treated any differently, because of what they contribute.

How do I make an appointment?

Just telephone us (you do not need to be referred by anyone else). An initial appointment will be made for you as soon as possible (usually within two weeks). At this first appointment we will explore with you whether Simply Counselling is the best place for you to get help; and if it’s not we’ll try and point you in the right direction.

How long does counselling take?

Each session lasts for approximately 50 minutes and most people choose to see their counsellor weekly,however for some, meeting fortnightly is enough; frequency of sessions can be negotiated with your counsellor. At Simply Counselling we recognise that everyone has different needs therefore it is difficult to say how many sessions you will require the average is ten however some people have only two and others work for twelve months.

I feel nervous and don’t know what to expect!

At Simply Counselling’ we appreciate that for some making the decision to call us will be difficult; we want to reassure you that you will be treated with care, understanding and respect.

I am disabled, can I access your services?

Unfortunately our premises at Harwell Street are located on the first floor and are only accessible via a flight of stairs. However, if you find stairs a problem, we may be able to arrange a home visit instead. Please ring to discuss your needs.
