We are running a course ... Do I want to be a Person Centred Supervisor?
A two-day workshop for qualified Counsellors:
17th & 18th SEPTEMBER 2016
Facilitated by Kim Cooper and Geraldine Thomson
Working in the field of therapy, and many of the ‘caring’ professions, rightly demands supervisory support. There will always be people needing supervision. Consequently, whether you are employed or self-employed, supervising could prove a wise career move. If, as a supervisee, you’ve ever wondered ‘Could I supervise?’ then this introductory workshop is for you.
Geraldine is an experienced supervisor and facilitator; she has developed and delivered graduate and post-graduate person-centred training for over 20 years. Kim has worked as a supervisor in a variety of settings, including a community mental health team, a voluntary organisation, and private practice.
During this workshop Geraldine and Kim will provide an opportunity for you to look at different types of supervision; its function, and the personal/professional qualities and attributes the task demands.
This introductory workshop has two purposes:
1. It can serve as the first module of a Diploma in Person Centred Supervision continuing in October 2016. Please note there are entry criteria for the Diploma – details available on request.
The intention in the full Diploma course is to explore, in depth, areas such as; ethical practice, differing settings, current thinking, and the nature and challenges of the relationship and work. In keeping with the spirit of the person-centred approach, the intent is to evolve a bespoke curriculum with participants, tailored to the emerging needs of individuals and the group.
Additional dates for the Diploma are:
15th & 16th October 2016 / 19th & 20th November 2016, 21st & 22nd January 2017/18th & 19th March 2017
Date of final 2 days TBC
2. It will serve as an opportunity for you to reflect on your readiness to become a supervisor. It will count as CPD for those deciding not to sign up for the Diploma.
The cost of the introductory two-day unit is £150.00.
The cost of the Diploma course is an additional £995.00.
(Please note – if you wish to do the Diploma, you have to do the two-day unit as well)
